Loose, unfitted style garments

For garments that are not a fitted, (eg. drawststring tousers), there is no substantial difference in cut.

As to waist - this is not so much of an issue either as it just means there is a different amount gathered around the waist.

eg. Someone who is 6ft tall with an INSIDE LEG of 34 inches and a LARGE (say 40 inch) WAIST could wear both XL and MEDIUM sizes !

This is because the medium would fit without any bunches round the waist, and would ride up the leg a bit - a bit like Thai trousers - keeping the ankles FREE and UNENCUMBERED - which is great for standing poses WHERAS the XL would draw together at the waist a bit more, but provide extra leg length (touching the floor) - so better to hitch up and sit in lotus, or for bends since the ankles will still stay warm !
